Prior to commencing your job at any offshore oil and gas installation, you must obtain
a valid :
1. Safety Smart Card (BOSIET,OPITO)
2. Valid Medical Card (see sample below):
Only then you may travel by helicopter or by boat (supply vessel)
Upon reaching at your rig location you are abide to the following

1. WORK with a valid work permit (PTW) required by the job.
2. Verify energy isolation before starting work
3. Obtain authorization before overriding or disabling safety critical equipment
4. Obtain authoristion before entering a confined space
5. Protect yourself against a fall when working at height
6. Use correct PPE when handling hazardous chemicals
7. Obtain authoristion before excavation or entering a trench
8. Do not position yourself under a suspended load
9. Do not smoke outside designated areas or bring potential ignition soures into process reas without authorisation
10.Do not use your mobile phone/ walkie talkie while driving; follow
the speed limit and use our seat belt.
1.1 What you need to know
we recognise that you have the necessary professional qualifications,
competencies, skills and experience to fulfil your roles onboard the
rig, but in order to make sure you aware of recognised HSE and
security best practise we also provide you with specific intsructions
and guidance on the particular features and activities of your new worksite.
The worksite manager or supervisor is responsible for arranging your
HSE induction as soon as possible after your aarrival. Your induction
may include the following issues:-
- organisation of the worksite -roles and responsibilities
- emergency plan and its location
-emergency alarm and responses
-overview of work areas, no-go areas and general areas
-muster points and escape routes
-survival craft and life saving equipments
-man overboard actions
-fire fighting equipment
-first aid treatment, location of equipment and hospital
-safety signs and their meaning - PPE areas, warning, first aid, etc
-smoking policy and smoking/ no smoking areas.
-project/location specific information
-documentation and procedures relevant tolocation
-hazard identification and risk assessment system at the worksite
-permit to work system type o work which requires a permit
-hazardous areas and precationary measures
-confined to space working
-handling of dangerous substances
-protective clothing and equipment and what you must use in your job
-reportiing of near miss, incident, damage or injury
-reporting of HSE observations
-worksite waste disposal policies
-worksite security procedures
When you have read this HSE and Security handbook and attended your induction
you will understand better how we can successfully manage HSE and security together.
Remember to ask your supervisor or QHSE Advisor for further help if you do not
understand any aspect of the handbook or the induction.
Remember, if you want to get a job at any offshore oil and gas installation, you have skilled on technical and experienced in this field. Some people underestimate this and they got some problem.
